Allianz Stadium
Allianz Stadium
At the site of the former Gerhard Hanappi Stadium in Vienna-Hütteldorf, SK Rapid started the construction of the new Allianz Stadium.
Sk Rapid had been at home in Hütteldorf, in the west of Vienna, since 1912. At the site of the former Gerhard Hanappi Stadium, SK Rapid started the construction of the new Allianz Stadium at the beginning of 2015. After only 17 months of construction, the construction company STRABAG handed over the stadium to SK Rapid. This has now been used since the 2016/2017 season.
The facts at a glance
The new stadium belongs to SK Rapid, the property is owned by the City of Vienna. The new home of SK Rapid bears the name of the insurance company Allianz Austria. The cooperation officially began on 1 July 2014 and will initially run until the end of the 2025/26 season.
View of the playing field
The Allianz Stadium offers space for 24,288 spectators, including 2,470 business seats and 41 boxes for V.I.P. guests as well as 50 seats for wheelchair-bound visitors plus accompaniment. At national matches, the stadium can be expanded to a capacity of 28,345 spectators by means of standing room.
Hoval supplies the stadium with heat and hot water
Thanks to this cascade solution, a total heat output of around 2,300 kW is available. It is interesting that of the 2,300 kW total heat output, 1,134 kW are available for the "extreme operation" of the turf heating alone. Of course, we are particularly excited about this.
The Hoval solution ensures sufficient hygienic hot water for the crew and supplies the building and the lawn with heat. Operators continue to expect low operating costs and efficient operation from the new heating solution.
